Quick post to say hello. I'm new to the forum and to Particraft although I have been papercrafting for 18 months now. I am attending my training day on Friday and looking forward to being a demonstrator. Thanks to Smiffy and Michelle for taking the time to talk to me and for their great tips and encouragement. Thanks also to Sue for putting up with my calls and questions!

I have booked a stand at our local show on 21st August where I will be demonstrating and selling cards and hopefully collecting interested names for workshops and parties. This is going to be very much a learning day out for me and a chance to practice the demos with a shifting audience.

I'm 53, live in Kielder in Northumberland and am married with no children but have two border collies, one Tonkinese cat (demolition unit lightly disguised in cat form) and a horse.

I will welcome all the suggestions and help I can get as I set off on my new journey.

Ruth

Hi Ruth,
I recently became a Particraft demonstrator and had my first party last Thursday.
It was for one of my crafty friends so I knew most people yet I was still a bit nervous at first. Anyway the evening went well, we all enjoyed ourselves and I was lucky to get a good order.
So welcome and good luck!
greetings, Viv x

Default Thanks

Hi Viv, Smiffy and Jayne

Thanks for the welcome and offers of help which will be only too gratefully taken up! I had a great day with Sue on Friday and came away inspired although only too aware I have some serious practice to do demonstrating wise. Does anyone have any experience of adult ed? I have been asked to put together a c.v. and course outline for a 10 week evening course in papercrafting so if anyone has done anything like this before I would appreciate any tips.

Viv, I'm so pleased your party went well. I have one arranged for September so far but that is too far away for a first so working on getting a first before then. If you felt like sharing any of your feedback such as things that worked well or things you wish you had done differently I would really appreciate it. Perhaps it would be good as a thread in the demonstrators area - what do you think?

Using up holiday from work to make samples and get my product knowledge up to scratch. Fun!

Smiffy, hoping to get to Ally Pally in September as it would be great to learn by helping. Working on hotel/fares at the moment to see cheapest options.

Lol

Ruth
