Hi!

my name is Heidi. I am a single Mom of 3 girls, work part time as a nurse and run a Guide unit! In my spare time (!!) I do all sorts of crafts, scrapbooking, cardmaking - running up to Xmas I usually do tole painting and sell at craft fairs but I want something to do " year round". I have pretty much decided that I will sign up to Particraft but my question is when to do it..

Having decided, the impatient side of me wants to do it NOW, but the common sense side of me thinks I should wait until the mad weeks leading up to xmas are over!.

So my question really is - do you think having the kit for a few weeks is beneficial to be building up samples etc or did you get your kits and head straight out looking for parties etc

thanks!

Heidi

Hi Heidi and welcome to the forum, when I started as a demonstrator I took advantage of having my kit before booking any parties so that I could build up my samples and practice different techniques to demonstrate. This was really useful as I could then answer questions when asked by customers. Hope this helps. Mo x

Hi Heidi!

We had our kit for ages before having the courage to book parties. It really does help to have time to play around with all the products beforehand, so that you are really familiar with them, as well as to build up your samples so you have things to display when you do go out to bookings.

You really have nothing to lose - go for it! Good luck! :)

Heidi, we got a booking soon after getting our kit, so we winged it. But as you are a Guide leader why not do both at once?

Sign up and get your kit, then have a parents craft evening. Invite the mums of your guides to join your meeting one night and 'Craft with the girls'?

That way you are showing your girls something and also having a practice party at the same time.

All you need to do is something easy, even just doing a gift bag. But have some flyers that you can hand to mums or tell them that you are a Particraft demonstrator and you can do the same thing at home for them and their friends.

Hi Heidi
Don't forget you also get a training session so it really is handy to get the kit asap. I couldn't wait for mine to arrive and I've never looked back!
